Falafel is a popular Middle Eastern food made with legumes (most often with chickpeas or fava beans) that’s mixed with (herbs, spices), that deep fried until it become crisp golden brown on the outside, and tender in the middle. Falafel is vegan and gluten-free. No flour is used in, the centers are light, tender, and extra flavorful thanks to green herbs and garlic, while the exterior is perfectly crisp and golden brown. I think now your mouth has watered enough let’s get know the most perfect and authentic Falafel recipe, let’s begin with ingredients then directions:

Ingredients

  1. Dried chickpeas
  2. Scallions
  3. Garlic
  4. Fresh herbs (ground cumin, ground coriander, ground cardamom, cayenne pepper)
  5. Dried spices
  6. Baking powder
  7. Ground black pepper
  8. Salt

How to prepare

First Step: Soak dried chickpeas, this step is simple. add dried chickpeas (garbanzo beans) to a large bowl, and cover by quite a few inches of water. set the bowl aside, and let the beans re-hydrate, until they triple in size. this takes a while, so do this the night before you plan to make Falafel. drain the beans, and then keep them covered in the fridge.

Second Step: Process all the ingredients in a food processor, roughly chop the onion/scallions, and then add them to the food processor with the (chickpeas, garlic, herbs, spices, salt, and pepper). then pulse until the mixture is chopped small, but before it is smooth, so its becomes Crispy.

Third Step: Cover the mix and refrigerate for 15 minutes (although, you can leave it in the fridge for much longer if that works better with your schedule).

Forth Step: Form balls from the mix, this recipe makes about 18 Falafels, the mixture might seem like it wants to fall apart, but trust us, it won’t. Just scoop 1 1/2 tablespoons or so of the mix and press it into a ball or oblong shape with the palms of your hands (it’s a little messy, but easy).

Fifth Step: Cook the Falafel, For the most authentic and crispy Falafel, fry the Falafel in about 3/4 inch of oil, to become Crispy. It’s also not as difficult or messy as many make it seem.

When the Falafel is cooked, immediately sprinkle a little extra salt over them and serve. You want to eat Falafel right away since it’s at its best right out of the oil.you can have aside dish like salad.
